that pop is due to the lack of a good seal between the head and the cylinder.
check the carb to see if has a lever actuated choke. Maybe that moved when you hit the pothole.
 
I've heard the woodruff key could be a problem on these 2 strokes.can you tell me where the woodruff key is on the flying horse setups?

There are 4 of them. one for the rotor in the mag, one on the clutch side for the PTO take off gear which I had a problem with it but it still was running then one for the clutch and one on the chain sprocket. Have you take the rotor off for any reason?

Nooby question.where is the rotor exactly

Your rotor is part of the mag. It is under the front left cover with the 4 screws. It is the round part that turns and has magnets in it. If by chance the key sheared could cause problems as the timing would be off.
