Caused slight scratches / pitting when porting engine (pics)

I don't think you'll have a problem with that cylinder. The fastest I've gone so far, 46mph, was done on a cylinder that was heavily scored. It never blew up, I just replaced it because I don't think it was helping the performance. ;)

Yeah, it would likely run for a little while without issue, but once the aluminum becomes exposed or the liner is compromised, it will die much sooner. It sucks, but thankfully a new cyliner is cheap. Trust me, you wouldn't be the first person to create a couple of door stops and paper weights by goofing up during the porting process.
