Hi guys,

Just wonderin on how to replace the cdi stock spark plug wire with more reliable one (copper core). Is it ok just to pull the wire out? or should we open the CDI box?

A step by step picture will be appreciated.

Cheers

Gday Grummy,
Don't try to open the CDI box. You cant - I learnt the hard way.
The wire just screws out. It's just screwed into an upside down screw in the CDI box.

I replaced mine with a Bosch distributor lead. Works a treat.

Sorry - got no pics.

Cheers,
Glenn

I moved my CDI upside down under the gas tank about 1.5 inches away from the spark plug. Instead of a wire I just have a 3K ohm resistor with leads wrapped around spark plug and CDI screw. Then insulated with electrical tape.

Napa is my friend. they have 7mm metallic plug cable for .38/ft and even had ngk plug in stock.
