chain snapped and whipped my neck

was doing some speed when all of a sudden the chain came of, i slowed dow bu it was too late it got snarled up in the wheel, an snapped the remainder of the chain spun round and whipped me in my neck, the rear sprocket joint got ripped and the spokes bent. the frot sprocket has a broken tooth, and the wheels got a flat edge from sliding about 30 metres,
chain was on as tight as i could get it, i dont know why it suddenly came off!!

Are you kidding with us elwood? I sure hope so.

A chain is to be run loose rather than tight in most any application.
Only chain driven overhead cams run the chain snug. That is a precision application, bathed in oil.
