Chain tension blues

I have a tensioner I got from bikeberry.
It attaches between the sprocket cover and engine case
My issue is the master link keeps hanging up on the mounting gusset of tensioner.
Does anyone know of any vendor that sells shorter master link or any remedy for this problem.

Get rid of the master link and use a chain breaker to put the chain together. Or if you have a 415 chain swap to a 410, 510 or 710 chain.

Or try* 11/124" (nine speed) KMC chain with quick link. You can split the chain using the lace on your shoe without removing the shoe. It has a very narrow profile, the pins are flush.

*some grinding of sprockets is necessary.

Put the master link on the other side of the chain?
