Chain Tensioner Chain tension

I just installed an 80cc engine & when we went to pop the clutch & start it the chained tightened up & bent the tensioner in. What should I do? The chain is not too tight. Is it not aligned maybe?

Hmm...did the tensioner material actually bend, or did the assy simply move? The the chain should sit nicely inside the roller. if your certain the chains not too tight, then make sure the tensioner assy isnt too far back towards the rear sprocket.
Happy

No doubt the alignment is important ! And the chain should not be over tightened ! There should be about 1/2 to 3/4 inch deflection between sprockets. Hope this helps.

The actual bracket was spinning around. We fixed that problem by welding it to the frame & the bike runs good.

Thanks!
