Soo I have a question about chain tensioners. I currently have the one with the 4 bolts and slid adjustment. I’m not really a big fan of it. Would the one with the spring be the better of the 2 to use??

The best tensioner is no tensioner. But if that's not possible, the arc type is the best

The lower wheel? I’m wanting to take my bike out on a longer stretch I’m running this one, but not sure if I have it all adjusted right. Riding more than around the block scares me as I’m worried about the thing blowing up

I'd be more worried about it folding over into your wheel. That's not too uncommon with those.

I actually had that happen to me when I had it on the last bike I had. When I put on my new bike, I used double sided tape on the frame to keep it from slipping on me. That’s also part of the reason why I was curious about the tensioner with the spring on it. Mounts right on the clutch case, so I figured it might be a little better

But also, where I’m most likely going to get a 42 tooth sprocket, I may just be able to go without a tensioner
