Lacey's at it again...... the dude aint scared to sawzall something off & weld it back...somewhere else!!

Inspiring!!

He swapped engines, put on the 32cc Eager Beaver.
I handed him tools & did the leg work...hehehe

hey Lacey!!!!
I just rode the Eager Beaver!! (get your minds outta the gutter)
I had to pedal start it. I flooded it trying to rope start. It started up on my 2nd pass by the house & by applying different downward pressure on the "clutch", I found the "sweet spot" and it tried to pull me. sounded strong...then it bogged & died, like before. We gotta look at that carb, fer sure.

later.....

the "beaver"

So did you just bolt the friction bar to the motor clutch or did you eliminate the clutch and make an adaptor?
Doc

I wish Lacey would splain this.....hahaha
NO! he's not my imaginary friend~! haha

the friction wheel is a piece of 1.75" exhaust-type pipe! scored with grinder, sawzall, dremel, and weld splatter!
overkill? i think not!!
it is welded directly to the clutch assembly (shown below). the clutch assembly was welded solid on both sides. the friction wheel is directly welded to the clutch assemble.
this is all mounted on a pivoting platform.
(the clutch) the pivot is controlled by a lever parallel with the top tube of the bike. this is the clutch. (2nd pic)

this direct drive set up can be started both by pull start or pedaling.

Can I get a round of applause fot AlexLacey?
