my motor chain occasionally rubs the inside of the chainstay.
I think it would be a good idea to add some sort of protector over the stay.
maybe a plastic cover of some sort?
does anyone make a part to do this?

thanks!

On many recumbents, they route the chain through a teflon tube. You might try that. I think you can get the tubing from Harris Cyclery.

I used a white pvc pipe cut in half mounted on chainstay with 2 hose clamps. Use one half, put the other half in your tool pack. It's still not wore through after 800 miles. It is showing some wear, but now that motor is broke in I have reduced chain slop to around 3/4 inch. Not sure if it's even hitting guard anymore, but I'm not going to take it off.
