Clacking noise, now it won't run.

If the big gear is turning the small gear but the piston isn’t moving remove the small gear and check that key, your kit should have come with a puller to take the gear off.

This is in the clutch case, where the flower nut is?

I cannot get the piston into the cylinder to save my life. These rings are giving me a hard time

Those are normal rings.
Here's a Zeda triple 40 piston, new out of the box. Those pins go on the carb side of the piston. You should be able to compress the rings to fit the cylinder on over them.

Is this normal? How there is a black piece just hanging? Got it on the other side too

I can get the rings on but can't fit the top on. Help.

That's all normal. That's the wrist pin clip that keeps the piston on the rod. Center the ring gap over the pin in the groove, squeeze the ring together and push the piston down over it. Repeat for second ring.

No matter what I do the head will not go back

Upside down and piston is not on the rod. But this is what it should look like.

When you try to put the cylinder back on, feed it down over the studs, then hold the piston with one hand and center it as you move the cylinder down over the piston. Make sure the cylinder and piston are in a line, if the piston is tilted to front or back the cylinder becomes hard to get over it.
