I am having a problem with a gas tank that I have painted. The paint came out great considering I am using a rattle can. The problem is the paint does not like gasoline. I would have thought that Dupli Color engine paint would be ok if it got gas on it. Wrong! I now have to sand and repaint the tank again. The color is a good match so I'm looking for a clear coat that will not be bothered by gas so I don't have any more issues. Any ideas?
Thanks

Unfortunately I don't have any painting tools at my disposal. I need something in a rattle can. Thanks for the input though. I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for.

Do what he says, but go down to Ace (or the equivalent) and get a aeresol can that you can mix the paint and put it in the cup, then sprays like a standard spray can. Something like this:

No special equipment needed.
