Hello,

I've never installed a clutch before, every video I've found of people doing it involve the 'key', rectangular steel, placed into the groove on the shaft. But it seems like the clutch has no room for the key but instead already sort of has this key pre-installed. Does it seem correct that I should ignore the key?

There is also a washer, you can see it sitting beside the clutch and key on the carpet, or so I assume it is a washer. Do you think this washer goes on the outer edge of the shaft?

The place I bought this kit from had a manual on their site that I couldn't open, they sent me a manual via e-mail but the manual is for a very different sort of kit.

Thanks!

Not sure where the washer goes, It may go inside between the clutch and bell. But the preset key is all you need

Thanks for the reply. Preset key is the rectangular piece of metal https://i.imgur.com/EgKhl0j.jpg in the left of this image?

https://i.imgur.com/bu86Xp8.jpg Can you see the bit protruding in the shaft hole? I don't know think I can use this 'preset key' with that piece of metal in the shaft hole. Seems like instead of metal protruding, to use the key there should be an slot or groove.

Yes i have a clutch like it, that is all the key you need, Not the long key stock that is in the picture, all that is needed to keep the clutch from turning on the shaft. Don't believe there is a slot for the long key in the clutch for the long key anyway....Can be installed ether way, sprocket in or sprocket facing out ...............Curt
