clutch pad replacement

has anyone ever tried using a alternate for clutch pads im about to use the rag joint system and cut it up and give it a whirl any other suggestions or alternates someone else has found useful

There are multiple threads about it on here. I think someone ended up cutting up some sort of belt and using some "belt pads" and some factory pads at the same time. At stock power and adjusted well I'm still on my first factory set.

I've heard of people using wood, erasers, leather and different combinations of em.

Yup a washing machine belt was recommended. McMaster's sells sheets of brake pad lining. You could cut your own. Out of the replacement pads available I prefer the black and white ones over the orange ones.
