My bike takes off when started is it the clutch?

Probably your idle is set too high. Typical clutches engage around the 2500 rpm mark.

I had an issue with the clutch, it wouldn't disengage on my china kit. The shoe bolts backed out and the shoes were in constant contact with the drums. As you can see, this clutch does not have external springs, they are inside the shoe. I put some locktite on the bolts and reassembled. We'll see how long they hold. Anyone else have this type of clutch?
