Safety COASTER BRAKE horror stories, please add your experience

I have put about 20k miles on a modern huffy Cranbrook. They require some reliability modifications but they work fine. Coaster brakes are no good for traffic though.
 
Always been my feeling that any bike that can get you from point A to point B alive and dismounting is a decent bike.

BUT:
Coaster brakes reduce the chance of that the faster you go and the older they get. How old is your chain these days?
ALSO:
Smart riders use their legs and arms as suspension. That is a recipe for disaster when riding bumpies with a coaster!
