coaster brake with sprocket ?

Ok I will remember the suggestion. Are you using both rubber rings?

I think the problem is maybe simpler to solve if you can build wheels:

Buy a pre-made hub thats made to take the sprockets without rubber rings, re-space the axle by moving nuts etc, and lace it up 3x left side, 2x right side, dished heavily.

You can look up Jobst Brandt's writings and find a 4x and 3x pattern that will use nearly equal length spokes, which will increase durability and even the tensions on both sides. I did this with a mtb wheel and it worked really well fr a pedal bike. (8speed shimano hub, no motor)

You Guys Need To Quit Bending Your Brake Arms! B4 Assembling The Sprocket Sandwich, Slightly Counter-sink The Bolt Holes In The Sprocket And Replace The Bolts With Flat Head Machine Screws. No Bending Or Welding Is Reauired And The Brake Arm Remains In The Stock Position.

sprocket talk

yeah, i'm using both of the rubber rings. the chain comes really close to the frame sometimes so i have to washer it out at the axle tho. i've never heard of dishing out the wheel. i'll have to go to your reference and check it out.
