HOw do you trouble shoot a CDI. I dont have a volt meter, so is there any other way do tell its its gone bad? Its farily new. Its less then a year or so. I have been riding for about 5 years now, with different bikes, and never had one go bad. NEED HELP!!!

Just wire up your spare CDI and see if that changes anything.

I always like to keep a known good cdi and pick up coil around. They are both easy to swap out for testing.

take the ignition cable off the cdi and remove sparkplug boot then cut both ends and put them back on will usually fix the problem as most times its just a poor connection

This is a great idea especially when the spare parts cost less than the multimeter one would need to test these.
