Coleman CT100 79cc engine in a Schwinn Stingray Chopper?

You must have a lot more money for this project than I did. LOL. It's very unusual that someone could have one of each engine at hand to compare. Good for you!

The picture above is not a good example because the OCC seat tube has been removed and replaced with a new tube farther to the rear. I assume you have a welder or know someone can weld a motor mount plate to the OCC frame.

It's obvious that you have not yet read my thread Building Michael's OCC with a 79cc Predator explaining how I made the pedals work. I know, or have heard of no other way to do it. It's only value is showing the cop that stops you it truely is a pedal bike. Other than that it's a big expense and hassel to construct.

The cruzing speed of 25mph is the same goal I had in mind, so I know all the options. The drive train will need to be configured to fit the engine you choose. The Titan, if identical to a Predator, is a low rpm high torq engine that no doubt has a governor. You need to find out for sure and then decide if you want to remove it to increase the rpm range. Which brings us to the question: Will it disintegrate at high rpms like the 79cc Predator? Is a billet flywheel available for it? They're expensive.

The HauShang 142f and 155f are high rpm low torq engines that do not have a governor to speak of. This choice will require a whole different set of perameters when designing the drive train. So you need to choose the engine first. It's nice that you can see how all the engines fit in the frame before making that decision.

I'll be leaving Monday for the rest of this month of July, so I won't be on the forum until I return.

I did see your thread, and I love your build. Where did you get that small chainring?

I, too, want the pedal capability just to stay under the radar.

I actually decided to get a 100cc 4-stroke engine kit
shopping

I'm going to see if I can get it to work.
I also need to add front brakes, etc. I'll prob make a new thread outlining the process.

talk soon thanks for the tips

Hey Michael, take a closer look at that chopper in the picture. I don't think it's a Schwinn OCC, I believe it is one of these. They have a lot more room for an engine.

You are absolutely right Gordy. Thank you. I did not know this bike existed and if I have seen it before I diddn't notice the difference. Wow! I love the disc brakes and the fact it doesn't appear to have a rag joint. This would make for a much easier build for sure.

Hey Muay ThaiJJ, send me a private message with your phone number and a good time to call you. We need to talk. There are a lot of things to explain in detail that would run this thread into fifty pages that others won't be interested in reading. Most of it is in my thread already.
