Comfortable bicycle saddle

Now this is my idea of a comfortable bicycle saddle:

That super comfort saddle looks mighty comfortable.

I have no idea why bicycles are equipped with ridiculously small and hugely uncomfortable saddles these days?

small and uncomfortable saves grams I guess. it's probably only relevant on a cf road bike, not so much on a steel cruiser with 30 pounds of powertrain attached

small and uncomfortable might save a few grams of weight, but it's a self defeating concept if the bike is so uncomfortable to ride that you never end up riding it?

I say, stick a large sized comfort seat on cf road bike, and you would see the crowds roll in to purchase these types of bikes, rather than just kicking the tyres when wandering through a bike shop; """looking for a comfortable bike to ride""".

no doubt, but unfortunately the lycra wearing freaks are the trend setters
