Complete newbie to the forum, in need of assistance

On your Huffy, the rubber sleeve over the cable should be all the way down touching the carb to prevent air from leaking in around the threads. Your fuel line should be as short as you can make it and still have it reach.
Bet. I'm gonna get working on it once I dislodge the old fuel filter. This line on it has gotten all hard and is dang near invincible. I will just replace it.

Also I don't have a sleeve, those are just zip ties I used to hold things down. Should I get one? I could use spare innertube to wrap it for the moment.

Yo People, What's up!!

I just graduated from high school in Texas not long ago and got roped into this hobby on a whim. I regret nothing, this hobby is very fun.

I have two bikes; A Zeda 80 mounted on a Huffy Rock Creek 26" and a BT 80 mounted on a god knows what, all I know is that it is and older specialized hybrid bike 29' that I got from a pawn shop at some point. My first bike (the zeda 80) performs just fine, but I'm having trouble with my Bt80. I ran it full throttle for 5 miles like a dum dum and wasn't surprised when my cylinder and cylinder body crapped themselves.

I have since replaced both parts and replaced the base gasket with a mostly identical cutout of some rubber-fiber gasket paper from Autozone. I reused the piston rings because they looked mostly fine. Despite all this I can't get it to start again. I'm thinking it might be compression related because I definitely have spark and fuel delivery, but even after making sure everything is down tight it won't start. I'm also kinda thinking that it may be due to me initially re-installing the exhaust at a bad angle causing the crushable copper gasket to get crushed in a way that results in compression loss.

I apologize if this is the wrong chat or place to say all this.
Dang. I feel dumb af. I think I figured out my issue.

My new piston is windowed, because bikeberry just would never restock piston #4. I probably messed up my port timing or something, and that is probably why I'm not able to start it up. Smh.

A windowed piston needs to have at least an OZ reed valve to work with it...No reed valve, no windowed piston.

I already have the piston, and I wanted to try a reed valve eventually. So I guess after a lot of research that is what I will gun for. (Unless bikeberry decides to restock #4, I seriously can't find a replacement anywhere)

You will need to tell us anything and everything that you have replaced as it can all make a difference just like your trying to use windowed piston with out a reed valve answered all of my questions...lol...lol...lol.
