Complete newbie to the forum, in need of assistance

A windowed piston needs to have at least an OZ reed valve to work with it...No reed valve, no windowed piston.
Ok, I did my research on exactly wtf I need a reed valve and why a windowed piston messes up my intake timings, but there is another thing I saw that I wanted to ask

Should I just invest in an expansion chamber as well at this point? If a reed valve increases my crankcase pressure, then wouldn't an expansion chamber just be mega free speed gains?

Also how much will a reed valve affect my idle rpms? I know a stock Bt80 probably can't handle too many rpms before it craps itself.

Not sure the BT80 can handle much at all. Imo it's sweet outta the box. Mine revved to 9kish I think and went 40mph outta the box. And there's no golt on expansion chamber

Questions on the BT-80 like the ones you just asked would be best answered by @Gordy since he has actually owned one...@ImpulseRocket is also excellent in delving deep into how the expansion chamber could be of help to you as well.

I'll just focus on a oz reed valve for now to get the thing alive again. Once I'm there then I'll see what it is doing and go from there

I honestly might have to just move it to a bigger frame anyway. I'm quite tight on space and I needed a wide elbowed intake just to attach the carb in the first place.

The BT80 is also a huge engine.

But imo if you wanted something fast, the BT80 isn't the choice.
