145 is on the high side of what you would do without doing anything special to keep temperature down. with a fred head or similar, higher octane fuel, and a colder spark plug you could feasibly get to 175 without troubles. beyond that in my experience puts too much stress on the chrome plating.
I know one guy who's running 220 with one of Bert Rod's sleeved jugs and a puch hi hi head. that bike is a real screamer
