Concerning rattle

I've got a newer motor with about 70 miles on it that has started rattling while it runs. Goes away as it revs up some, does it weather or not the clutch is engaged.

So far I've checked the tightness of all the nuts and bolts, checked the mag coil clearance and the drive gear under the clutch cover.



Engine runs fine otherwise. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, if anything I put too much grease on it.

OK, Everything is normal sounding then. Go riding and see if anything changes

Ok. I know these little 2-strokes tend to rattle some but I wasn't expecting that much. Guess I still have a lot to learn about them. Thanks friend.

So of the off brand engines are not made to the same tolerances as a Zeda or CDH, so you can expect a little variance. The motor sounds good, what does it sound like when you rev it up?

The rattle mostly disappears above ~3000 rpms. Cruising around 5-5500 it sounds kinda tinny. The rattle, that is. That might be because I haven't got the jetting nailed down yet though. I don't have a safe way to record it while riding.
