Cory's Monster Whizzer project

Tires

Should I worry about the quality of my tires if mounted on a fast Whizzer? Not sure how fast this thing is going but it just hit me that my tires are made in Taiwan and it would take all day to clean up the mess if I bit it. Any advice on Quality tires on the market that will hold up to higher speeds?

Tyres

I find the Hemisphere Armadillo tyre made by Specialised to be really good and hard wearing. red/pink Kevlar walls and black top. I also use thornproof tubes. Costs Aus$50 per tyre and Aus$20 per tube. Good grip too.

Hey thanks Irish John. Did get an idea on how fast the Monster is the other day. Purchased a radar detector for the park last year and with the help of a friend we clocked the Whizzer at 48 mph. You could tell the bike had more in it, but even at that speed it seems dangerous. Will purchase better tires and ask more questions in the forum before doing this again.

Cory,

I want to do something very similar to my Whizzer - thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, photos and hard work - truly inspirational!

Best,
