Many 2008 and earlier and some few 2009 eZips are 24-36V+ capable.
Test by jumpers from battery to pack terminals - insure pos and neg terminals to avoid damage!
$15 20-50V controller available -eBike Toolbox (requires connector adaptation)

Can you elaborate on the test please. Its scary hooking 36v to a 24v rig.

Would it be safer to reduce the voltage from the battery a little, to say 30v? I hear this is cheap/simple efficient, but needs confirming?

At worst, i could fry it (the controller only right? - not the display? & throttle?), & get the controller u recommend, but its advanced stuff for me. cant say i am keen.
