The bearing might have come out of the case. There's an extra bearing on the zeda engine that's not on the eBay 2 stroke. Can anyone explain why this might be?
The Zeda branded motors are made to a higher standard than the run of the mill, E-bay, Chinese motors that are available at much lower price and much lower quality standards. Can anyone explain why this might be?
- Upgraded bearings / 60% thicker crank case around bearings
I've never had to use them, so idk where to find themThanks. Could someone please link 15mm arbor shims? I can't find them on the net.
I think I would go down to the local lawnmower and two stroke sales and repairs store, I would almost bet you could find them there.Thanks. Could someone please link 15mm arbor shims? I can't find them on the net.
Good idea, I never thought of thatI think I would go down to the local lawnmower and two stroke sales and repairs store, I would almost bet you could find them there.
Can you post the link here?Because the bearing's are press fit in the case half's shimming the crank is not that easy because you have to assemble the case half's with the bearing's and gasket in place and add shims checking end play making sure to leave a little bit for heat expansion.
Slip fitting the bearing is taking material off the crank mains not the bearing inner race, just enough so that the bearing can slide on and off but still be just slightly tight, this is usually done with sand paper while spinning the crank in a drill press or lathe to keep it concentric and so that it still seals up properly, this then helps to allow you to assemble the case half's checking end play with your shims and be able to take it apart again easily if needed without having to use the press or hit the crank ends which is very bad with these cranks as they go out of true very easily!
You can see an example of slip fitting in my crank balance video here on the site.
