Hi,

I'd like to make some sort of aluminum frame that will improve the look of the bike. I want to build it to allow the fins of the cylinder to stick out for ventilation, so the aluminum sheet stock will need to have custom holes cut into it. This is designated by my red shading in the attached picture. The blue shading is where I would like to put some sort of custom gas tank. I am looking for tips or ideas on how I could do this. I am not satisfied with a rear-mounted gas tank, I think it looks silly. I think that this idea would definitely improve the aesthetic of the bike. Thanks!

There are already cool aluminum bare gas tank bike frames for ~$120...

It's got rear disc brake mounts, one has a removable gas tank.

Making a frame from scratch in the garage is a tough gig, especially considering how it will be used, but those might give you material to work with, or just get the frame and move all your shifting bikes parts to it ;-}

Good luck!
