Custom Bobber Predator 212 Build

Hey guys this is Cruz from Down the Block. I recently obtained this gnarly bike off a friend of my family. At first the bike had skinner forks which were probably taken off a Schwinn bike and had a slimmer tire. But I swapped the front tire and put on a 20x2.80 tire just for now. I plan on switching the forks out with OCC chopper forks. I'm having trouble figuring out how to install brakes on that wide back tire. And I don't really like the fact of having a pull string to start the motor. It's definitely a interesting find and would like some sort of assistance or advice on how to best build this beast bike.

The rear wheel has a drum already on it, you just needle a hand lever or foot pedal, and possibly a cable of the proper length.
Is the recoil broken, or just the rope?

The recoil is broken. When I pull the cable by hand, there's no resistance.. not even the slightest.. the cable seems smaller as well. As if it came off those mini scooter bikes. I like those scooter motorbikes.

At this point you can obviously tell that whoever previously had this was smoking something heavy. Because the bike looks like it was built from the ground up. With shotty welding . And the foot rests being a children's bicycle handle welded to the frame

Yea, you'll have to take the rear wheel off and see if there is any brake shoes inside. It could be as simple as the actuator arm inside of the hub is positioned wrong and never puts any pressure on the shoes. It will take some tinkering.
