Custom Gas Tanks

Looks great!

Here's mine, pics aren't the best (stripes look better in person), but you get the idea.

I used the standard tank, then made a "fiberglass" cover for it to mimic a pre- 1910 look. I used foam board (from old trial exhibits) to build a form, then covered it with fleece and impregnated the fleece with resin...lather, rinse repeat. A lot of sanding and filling to get it anywhere close to smooth. If I had to do it again, I would use fiberglass cloth and not fleece. the cover in bonded to the tank permanently with polyurethane adhesive and polyurethane foam.
