Custom Gas Tanks

Finished last week with the custom gas tank. Painted to match bike and I cut a custom graphic in a "Schwinn" logo which makes everyone think the bike is from the 50's from most people's reaction. Wondering what other folks have done

Here's mine, pics aren't the best (stripes look better in person), but you get the idea.

I used the standard tank, then made a "fiberglass" cover for it to mimic a pre- 1910 look. I used foam board (from old trial exhibits) to build a form, then covered it with fleece and impregnated the fleece with resin...lather, rinse repeat. A lot of sanding and filling to get it anywhere close to smooth. If I had to do it again, I would use fiberglass cloth and not fleece. the cover in bonded to the tank permanently with polyurethane adhesive and polyurethane foam.
