cyclone motor internalcontroller blown can i use external controller or throw out

ive got a cyclone motor and bye acident i put neg and poss wires back to front wasnt 4 long thay just touched and that was it now motor wont work looked inside and its a internal controller is it not worth layn with and throw out or could i run external controller any 1 that could help me out with sloution would be grateful even links on info about this icarnt find anything to help me
