DE Referral Program

I ended up ordering the DE Mitsubisi 43cc Encore Manual
Direct Drive yesterday. I felt this would suite my needs better
than the centrifugal clutch- Automatic. Deciding factor about
ordering from DE was that they have been in business about
20 years now. I agree that they are a little bit pricey, but I
guess that is the price for simplicity. I have read negitive things
about their referral program but a person can buy 4- kits and get
25% off. I only needed one kit....thou. Looking forward to trying
kit out. I had a Japanese Front Wheel Drive Kit in the early 1980"s
with a handle to engage and disengage direct drive that I enjoyed
riding very much, only top out around 18 mph though. I sold it to
a friend a few towns over and believe it or not it is still going. I
thing he has replaced a few rollers and tires thou.

cool, Looking Forward to hearing more about the D.E. kit and the TLE43.
They have a video on youtube that looks pretty good, the bike seemed to have good exceleration properties.

I recieved my MIitsubishi TLE43 Dricect Drive Kit
a few days ago and just now got around to installing
it. This is one nice bike motor kit. I like the cruise control
click throttle very much. The TLE43 motor gas tank has an
angled out filler cap and you can always fill your tank up
full. To set up onto my bicycle was easy with 9 bolts to tighten
and adjusting the clearance level over the back tire and making
sure your rollers were centered over your tires. The engage and
dis-engage handle set and cable were heavy duty. This is one nice
quality friction drive set up.

Any updates?

I'm curious about the manual vs. auto drive on this. What made you decide to get what you did and how's that decision playing out.

The direct drive manual was the correct choice for me
in the community I reside in. I finally matured in my thinking
and not to get caught up in all this great enthusiasm. I found
out the two most important questions that will guide my decision
making in future projects. The most important decision for me is
#1 What will work out for me in the long run with motor-assitance
engines on bicycles in the community I reside in, with out exposing
them to future shock.
#2 I will always rember that I am on a bicycle.
I like the roller idea because the drive system does not connect to
my bicycle drive chain or sprocket and I can disengage at any time
while be pulled over by the police and not getting my bicycle tooken
away from me and paying fines.

All good reasons and good for you sorting out what works for you.
Maybe I was not clear with my question but I wasn't asking about your choice of system but why with that system you went with the direct drive over the auto with centrifugal clutch. Your first post mentions auto then it seems you changed your mind. I'm thinking over which might be better for my needs.

Happy Valley, I purchased the encore direct drive because of
the simple clutch. The automatic upgrade contians the polyurethane
rollers and you have to rope start it everytime you turn it off. Dimension
Edge does not supply alot of information about the automatic clutch
and I thought that was enough reason not to order the automatic
upgrade. It does cause the motor to set out a little more and it seems
it would tip over easier when parked. I also have 2 Golden Eagle Belt
drive bicycles that I like to ride also. I also feel that a Golden Eagle
set up would be better than the DE automatic upgrade.
