"Dhampir" motorized bicycle project

Good day to all! For a long time I wanted to post my topic on this forum.

First, by the name of this monster. What is a dhampir? We open google and find something like this: "Dhampir is half human, half vampire." Dampires is generally portrayed as one with all or most powers of a vampire, with few to no disadvantages."
If it is easier, then the concept of this bike is simple. Ideally, it should take the best from both kinds of transport and, if possible, not have their disadvantages. From bicycle - size, weight and the ability to ride pedals. From a light motorcycle - the dynamics of acceleration and cruising speed. All this - with weight and dimensions, under which it can be stored in the apartment. Of course, because is a single-speed engine, the ideal "balance" between "bicycling" and "motorcycling" is impossible. With a big rear sprocket we get a lot of traction, but a small speed. With the small rear sprocket - a high speed, but much less acceleration dynamics.

And therefore, in more detail on the engine. It is a two-stroke water cooling engine from ktm sx 50 dirt bike. A resonator tuve was welded now. And rotor of the water pump is made on the CNC. For the engine were purchased two radiators from KTM SX 65 and 19mm Dellorto PHBG carburetor.

The frame of this bike was welded from a thick-walled steel profile. Main part (top, down and seat tubes) - from 50x50x3mm square tube, and for chain and seat stays - 40x20x2mm tube. Weight of a complete frame is 16kg. Weight of a complete bike is 56kg.

The head tube, the bottom bracket shell and top of the seat tube is made from steel on a lathe. Saddle - lepper primus.

Hello everybody! It was decided to re-equip the bike for driving on roads or highways. For this I installed Maxis Hookworm tires 26x2.5. The front sprocket was replaced with a 12t. I have reached a speed of 50 mph or more than 80 km\h. When driving downhill, a speed of 55 mph or 88 km\h was obtained. It was decided to replace the rear sprocket with 70 or 72t, which will allow 55 miles per hour to go in a straight line.
Made a new magnesium alloy carburetor pipe. It was decided to lighten the bike as much as possible, some of the parts will be made anew from light alloys.
A new stainless steel muffler was also made.))

I see this bike has been on the roads since 2018- nice to see it now and I can assure you it is still very impressive in 2021.

Replaced the front sprocket at 12t. Now there are 12-60 sprockets. The transmission ratio is 5. Achieved 58 miles per hour (93 km per hour). The video shows that the imbalance of the rear wheel tire is already affecting. After the trip, I removed the imbalance of the tire.

I think this is the latest information on this bike. In the summer of 2021, I reached a speed record of 94 km per hour. Here is a video of how it was:

Everything was fine, I made several trips of 100+ km. Here is a video of one such trip:

But the joy did not last long - the resonant pipe cracked from vibration.

Muffler cracked on the weld

I had to repair the pipe and the muffler. The work was carried out by the same person who was engaged in welding these parts.

The conjugation of the resonant tube with the cylinder was performed on springs. This will reduce the chance of the pipe breaking from vibration. The muffler has also been redesigned.

Parts of the pipeline of the cooling system were made of aluminum-magnesium alloy.

Additionally, the bike was upgraded to 428 chain. To do this, I had to make a custom front and rear sprockets. This increased the reliability of the drive.

Thus, the bike became not only fast, but also reliable. Now he looks like this.

And of course, I installed a nameplate

And so it goes through the city (you can turn it on from 14:36):

Theoretically, you can still increase the maximum speed. But since there is only one gear, this will greatly reduce the dynamics of acceleration. Therefore, most likely, the bike will remain in this form.

P.S. As I write all this, the country where I live treacherously attacked neighboring Ukraine. For three weeks now, a terrible fascist dictatorship and isolation has been created in my country, which, in theory, will be comparable to North Korea. All these years I have been against Putin's terrible regime and have never supported it. Perhaps this is one of my last posts on this forum, because they can easily disconnect Russia from the Internet, finally closing with a new "Iron Curtain".

Sorry about the circumstances, wishing you the best of luck and courage while wading through unknown territory. Its pretty hard to imagine, honestly.

You built a very nice piece of transportation, its amazing.

I am still alive! And my project is also alive. During this time, a new custom fuel tank was made from steel (the old pit bike tank was complete crap), and a center stand was installed. The photo shows the process of making the tank. First, it was glued together from cardboard, then pieces of steel of the same size were ordered, after which they were welded together and cleaned. The new tank has a volume of slightly more than 5 liters. The engine is still in perfect order.
