With a steel frame you can weld nuts on and then bolt on actual brake calipers. You could weld on a piece of 1/4" flat steel then drill and tap it. Instead of using those clamp on adaptors that don't really work that well. What are methods that people are using, both front and rear? I see a cheap mount on amazon.. it looks cheap too.
Interested too see what yall do..
That's not a bad idea at all.
Hi guys,I got adapters from BikeBerry. So far they work great but I am not too certain how well they will work with weak dropouts. @DAMIEN1307 has a great set-up. I will post a link to his thread if I find it.
I am struggling with this my self on my current huffy beach cruiser build that I have laced some decent disc brake wheels for. I bought the cheap black bracket for the front, but the standard front 140mm disc is too small. I am hoping the 160 I ordered today will give me the right distance. I have one of the nice cnc aluminum brackets for the back, but the 203 MM disc is also too small does not engage enough of the calipers. I may have to use a front disk caliper on the rear mount which will put it closer to the rotor. I cleaned up the old caliper brakes for the back as a last resort for the rear brakesWhat are methods that people are using, both front and rear? I see a cheap mount on amazon.. it looks cheap too.

This bracket might be what you are looking for. This is best designed bracket I have found for a non disc brake frame/bike. The way it's designed will keep it from spreading your rear drop outs. Idk if this bracket can be used on the front or not. I hand built my brackets, not knowing they made conversion parts for a non disc brake frame/bike.I am struggling with this my self on my current huffy beach cruiser build that I have laced some decent disc brake wheels for. No Risk Man I've never used 1 of them yet, I kinda took their idea & ran with it & fabricated my own. I mainly posted it to give you guys a idea & that it possibly might work for you. I've read good things about them & seen them used quite a bit.Did you successfully use this bracket or suggesting it looks like it might work? Thanks
