My bike that I am currently building only has a pedal brake. Can anyone refer me a vendor that sells disc brakes for a cruiser bike.:D

You need to have forks that accept disc brake calipers and wheels with hubs to accept the disc. I have 2 sets of disc brakes and calipers still in the box because i didn't know that when i bought them.

Ended up getting a drum brake and having a bike shop make the wheel. They go on most forks (front). Plus I don't know if it's doable to have a rear disc brake on a bike with a rear sprocket attached.

A rear coaster brake is acceptable, IF you have a workable front brake.

The front brake will end up doing most of the braking anyway, due to the weight shift on your wheels when braking.

Like Scott, I recently added a front drum brake (Sturmey-Archer X-FDD) to my cruiser, which has the added bonus of a hub dynamo to power lights.
