Does silencer create less horsepower

Does an sbp silencer for a sbp expansion chamber take away horsepower or speed. Thanks.

It might... Then again it might not? If anything you'll want to adjust the pipe a bit afterwards to make up for the slightly increased restriction.

Thanks so it will restrict airflow, thats why I dont do reed valves either. No silencer for me.

Ok but a reed valve is beneficial once you do the right modification, I would know first hand, and the muffler can have restrictions in flow (which is part of what makes a 2 stroke a 2 stroke, the need for restriction) and still be capable of producing plenty of extra power.

restriction isn't always a bad thing you know. as with anything there's a sweet spot to be found somewhere
