This is my first motorized bike build. I am a fairly experienced bike mechanic. I know very little about small engines. Thanks for having me.

My plan is to start with this Electra Townie. I picked it over a beach cruiser, because I like the geometry and upright seating position and I wanted either V-Brakes or disc brakes.

As you can see the frame is stretched. I need a little help with the motor mounts. I have been searching around and I found a few CNC motor mounts that may work. However I have two concerns:

1) my downtube is 44.3mm diameter and the seat tube is 35mm diameter. None of the CNC mounts seem to match. I have found mounts with 42.5 ID and and 38.1mm. They look like this:

2) Because the frame is stretched, I am unable to determine if these will be long enough:

I have two engine kits to choose from already.

It looks like @MacZulu did this with a Townie. Not sure if he is still around?

Last seen 2019, so probably not.

If you can weld then you can just come up with something like he did.

I also could find a different frame for my first build and save this until I get things more figured out.
Ok sooo... that may be a good idea. Definitely learn welding and all lol, but if you just wanna get this thing running then a different bike may be the way to go for now.
