Is yours a two position switch, or momentary?
A push kill (button) switch it won't matter how ya hook it up. Push the button, It makes contact and kills the motor.

Meanwhile.... husband came home Friday, (trucker so not home but every few weekends.) Not feeling well.
This morning really not feeling well. Said I'll wait a week and see. I said get your tail to a clinic NOW and find out!
Guess what. He has pneumonia in both lungs and tested positive for covid. So he's in the hospital under observation. And for the next two weeks I'm in self quarantine. Wonderbar! NO fireworks shows this weekend, no biking, no nothing. And worry about my poor hubby. Can't even visit him. NO visitors to a covid area.
