Engine Trouble Engine dies at idle once warmed up.

PTFE plumber's tape works too. just in case you don't have an O ring but have PTFE tape already. :)
A couple of wraps around the tip of the intake. It just has to overhang the end of the intake a tiny bit, without obscuring the bore.
It gets a bit mashed when you put it together, but it works. :)

There's no groove it just sits between the end of the intake and the seat of the carb.

OK. Put a 3/4" OD x 5/8" ID x 1/16" o-ring in there and it was clear from the get go after starting the bike that something was different. Inspecting the carb end of the intake revealed a very poor sealing surface so I cleaned that up and got it nice and straight and flat. I did not run well and was acting like it was partially choked. Took the .080 jet out and put the .070 in and it acted like before where I couldn't quite get full throttle and it would die when hot, but definitely ran better than .080. Will work on it more later today if I get a chance.

If it's all sealed good now the #70 jet may still be a bit rich.

.

Thanks, guys! Can't tell you how long I've been trying to figure this out.

Put the c-clip at it's highest position and went down to .070 and a worked my way back up to .075 where it seemed to run the best overall. Good WOT and it's idling well and responding to the idle speed screw, which I hadn't seen much of before. Pretty nice when an engine worx!

So, that let me spray a little carb cleaner around here and there and I found that the half gasket right under the air filter must have an air leak because spraying fluid there almost made the engine die. What's the fix there? RTV sealant?

I'm guessing I'll be jetting back down when I fix these leaks...

RTV to help seal the half gasket where it's leaking, guys? What other options are there?

Great. Well...I hope the RTV works. Cleaned up the area and put a heavy strip of it on there. Haven't had a chance to test it yet.
