Hey MotorBike Mike:
I used my Dremel to cut and grind down the short portion of the perforated tube protruding from the front baffle of the muffler, making it flush with the baffle, then I installed it last night.
This morning when I fired Oscar up, I was pleased with the sound! It wasn't much louder than stock, but produced a deeper, more satisfying tone.
I could feel a slight increase in power right away, but I didn't try for any top speed comparison, because I really don't feel safe taking him over 30MPH.
The difference in diameter between the stock exhaust port of roughly 0.625" and the Hi-Flow of about 0.920" gives an increase in flow area of a little more than 2 to 1, which eases the exhaust restriction considerably!
Now Oscar can inhale AND exhale much better!
Soon I'll be ready for the Cam gear advance!
