Your talking about this one right?
A 90 degree angle right out of the gate is never a good idea, do your self a favor get a proper header and pipe, the muffler you are using is junk too highly restrictive even on smaller displacement engines.

Show us a pic of this Melted Adapter.

Misalignment of the Exhaust pipe will cause distortion of an aluminum exhaust adapter. Distortion can be mistaken for melting,
Just hanging the exhaust pipe off the adapter is no good

If it's an aluminum adapter and ya mount the exhaust pipe in such a way that it put's unaligned force on the adapter.
Exhaust heat will make the aluminum adapter to become distorted.

That 90 degree one is mismatched in dia causing restriction (much smaller) then a true 90 just adding to it, the two you showed would be much closer in dia. and use of a good head tube. The 90 degree one with the use of the muffler from our 2 stroke engine kits are easy for people to just bolt on and go but the combination sucks LOL just think of long wot throttle blasts on that poor little 90 being like no more than two inches from the flange. 1200f can be seen at four inches out and that's Chinesium. I hope he shows it as requested!
