Exhaust Crome Pitting

Leeonardo has had its muffler pit and chrome fall off? Possible causes. Anyone with similar situation? 08 NE5 500miles.

Causes?

Poor plating and heat induced corrosion.

Only fix is replating (expensive) or replacement (expensive).

Hi Guys My fix is to hot jet Exaust manifold and pipe..It works on headers and looks great plus keeps more heat off your leg...Hope this helps ......Bill

I agree with Mountain Man" just go ahead and ride that thing". We can go nuts trying to keep them looking like new or ride them like crazy. They are 2 different options. I ride my 99 Whizzer like crazy & have fun. My 49 J that I got from Quenton is the one that I will be careful with. I had Harleys for 25 years(sold my last one in 1995) & always had more fun with my rat bikes. Then I would get them pretty & had to be careful not to get them dirty.
