Expansion chamber

Hi,
Will exhaust heat wrap help to quiet down an expansion chamber? I have a muffler on it but it loses power with it on. Any recommendations it get it a little quieter?

I made it with 1 inch pipe that I drilled holes into and put 2 soup cans over it packed with fiberglass insulation. It slides over the exhaust so it is bigger it is about a foot long. It works very good for quieting it down but decreases the performance. Do you think it’s too long?

Hmm not sure. I'm not a huge exhaust expert. Maybe someone else will know.

You oughta get something like this. It's what I have. It quiets my pipe wayyyyy down and as far as I can tell doesn't affect performance at all. It's very high flow. I just use a handlebar grip between it and the pipe, that's it.

Do you weld it onto the pipe? How do you attach it?

Just a bit of handlebar grip like I said. It's the PERFECT size and I didn't have to use any clamps. I could get a picture if ya want lol.
