EXTRA BASE GASKET Good-or- Bad ????

Adding another gasket will change the engine performance due to the fact it changes port timming and duration if you think about it ???? By raising the cylinder higher my piston will have a lower BDC meening that the transfer and exhaust ports will be uncovered more and longer due to the fact that they never were uncovered comletly with just 1 base gasket.. So has anbody messed around with Base Gaskets,,,, what were your findings with 0 none, 1 one, or 2+ base gaskets added ?????

Ive heard lots talking about using extra base gaskets to change port timing if you weren't comfortable with grinding your ports. Down side is it changes your quench distance.

and lowers compression - interesting stuff to play with, but I'd rather just ride when I have that much time

when I was ill some years ago, I did that to make ride smoother

File some off the head or top of the cylinder to bring the squish back into range.
Typically raises rpm at the expense of torque.
