f80 engine on avanti escape

hi, i am sam.

I have ordered a f80 engine kit of mbb imports.

I am hoping that this engine will fit on my avanti escape. on the bikes down tube it says it is 38 cm??? Do you think this will fit??

Hello Sam. Are you in the Sydney area? I'm in Nowra.
I guess you mean it says 38cm on the seat tube, not the downtube.
I just ducked out and measured my seat tube, it's 40cm and I have about 1cm clearance above the air filter, but I have a shift-kit which raises the engine slightly and a larger diameter air filter than standard.
I'd say that the engine will probably just fit, but you'll really have to wait and see at this stage. (I bought my bike especially for the engine kit, a Malvern Star 'Octane' mountain bike with a large frame. There are some pics in the 'My Rides' album on my profile page.)
