I fell in love with these bikes as soon as I saw one, they are awesome! I did not know that they were so prevelant.

Of course i am new and I just wanted to say thanks to all the information that is here and to the moderators for all there precious time. I have been a carpenter for 17 yrs of my life. I also am part mechanic and have worked and managed an automobile audio and tint shop. I saw one of these weed eater bikes on a news show about 8 years ago and I wished I would have searched for one back then. I am looking forward to either building or finding the perfect bike for my needs and hope to find most of the information at this site. I saw a mountain bike that had the motor mounted inside the v-frame and think that I would like that type of setup with a front suspension. I want to be able to ride the bike to work, so I want to be able to get at least 30 mph and have plenty of power to do some trail riding and jumping. I also want to be able to pedal for exercise so I am thinking an 80cc motor. I have noticed that there are many different types of bikes but i want to pedal assist. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks:D

Hi Welcome to MBc! Home of many answers, and awaiting your ideas.
I have a 2 stroke v mount "80cc Happy Time" chinese. I wouldnt recommend this if you need a daily commuter. They need a lot of attention. You have to like to tinker if you own one. If you want a v mount commuter id get a 4 stroke kit. more reliable set up.

If you want to jump and do a little off road my pick would be a rear mount kevlar belt drive. Lot more money, but the most reliable. Everyone will have their own special picks.

Welcome EZ. An "80" will get you to 30, if geared right and the ground is fairly level. I think that front suspension is a great thing also. It doesn't have to be much as long as it soaks up the small holes and cracks in the road. They wear your arms out on a longish haul.
