Fat Tire Chopper Bicycle

It's time.:devilish: Building mini choppers and 2 1/2 years of dabbling with MB's It's time for me to
combine one sport bike with another.

I've spent 3 weeks working on a frame to fit a 6 ft. adult rider. I saw this frame design a
year ago and couldn't stop thinking about it so I gave it a whirl. Not as easy as I thought.

In tradition of keeping a radical bicycle look, the frame is designed with a single down tube.
Of course keeping a peddal drive train. (different than my mini choppers)

Im going with a 45 to 47 deg. rake, with a 24" 72 spoke front wheel. Chrome billet forks.
I'm not building the rear frame until I find the ultimate 11"wide x 23"tall rear tire/rim combo.
The head frame is bowed, to accept any engine style. I may start with a HT to save costs.
If I love the bike I may upgrade.

This will be a slow going project due to a busy life. This is where i'm at so far. I'll keep this
thread updated as things progress. graucho

awesome...... cool, look at blending of colors!! Looking great!!

"sunnyside" acetone...sounds like such a happy place!!

Is that the thinner you use for rustoleum?

This is getting too exciting Graucho and is affecting my sleep pattern. I can't wait to see close-ups of the transitions between colours and to find out what the acetone is for (cleaning the airbrush I'm guessing?). I'm not sure what powers the airbrush (foot pump?). Anyway it is so well documented please don't spoil the format by answering specifically - I'll wait until you describe it all in due course. You have set a new benchmark in the hallowed history of Motoredbikes.Com

Fantastic job on the painting...Look forward to seeing the bike re-assembled
will be something special, you will have to plan ahead when riding her allowing extra time
for your ride for all the times people will stop you ro checkout the bike hehe...simply awsome...

Chopper bicycle Out for a test ride!

What a day! Took her off the bench and showed her some sunshine. The test ride let me know I need to adjust the sprockets on the engine side. But all is good in my heart. I could feel the spirit of the new bicycle happy and free stretching her legs for the first time.

I need to finish the lighting/wiring and fine tune the normal items required for a DIY build. Also I may want a front brake, time will tell. I need to take a good week long brake from her. (Other than a few rides here and there :D)

Here's the latest shots.

Entertain The Form Of That!

Here's the latest shots.

Woweeee Graucho, entertain the form of that!!!
Has she got a name yet?
Please keep the resolution as high as possible so I can zoom in and ogle at things better. It deserves to be high-res.
My vote is she does need a front disc brake if only for looks. Are you able to report on the cruising speed or is that still classified under article 5 of the constitution?

Thanks very much guys. Ok John LOL. My speed wasn't anything to brag about. I could only get up to about 15mph with my current sprockets. I'll deal with that in its own time. Who knows? I really like the Aussie Jesters electric set up. I may just swap out the engine compartment for a battery section. Ive searched the web over, and I haven't seen an electric fat tire yet. I like to do the undone. Thats why I need to take some time away from it. To clear my head. Thanks again everyone.

Here is my hi res images direct from my camera.

There are electric choppers with fat rear tyres that are for hire in Byron Bay where I live and they go really fast and the Police don't like them but nobody has a tyre as fat as yours Graucho. I'm sure you'll adapt around any problem there.
If you go electric leave room for a small ipod and powerfull amp & speakers so you can play an mpg file of the great blare of Mike Hailwood's Honda 250 6 cylinder:

or maybe his Honda 125cc 5 cylinder:
