First ride to work- 16 miles, cold

Oops,I forgot about that,it works out to around 200rpm at the crank and with a 14/48 ratio still 116.At 25 mph it's down to 100 that's barely doable.Unless you drive via an internally geared hub or the NuVinci it's not possible to get around this problem.I have an NV.At 30 mph in high gear, my crank speed is only 76 rpm. (400/1.75)* (16/48).In low gear at 10 mph, climbing a steep hill we get (146/0.6)*(16/48) =81.I pedal along as much as possible,I feel silly just sitting there.

On a different type of bike designed to help the engine, I agree. On mine, I specifically geared it to pedal from a standing stop and then let the engine take over. I feel as silly with the early motorcycle styling as with this look, not many people are expecting me to pedal.
