Flower Nut Stripped Off During First Ride - Cracked Case Cover! Any ideas??

As long as the jolt didn't throw off the trueness of the crankshaft you should be able to fix it without splitting the case. Will the flower nut thread back on to that shaft, or are the threads ruined?

Sadly the threads on both the shaft and the inside of the flower nut seem to be mangeled:(

Where did you purchase your engine?
It was a kit on amazon, I know that probably wasn't the wisest of choices...however I have been itching to build one of these and had a giftcard and next thing I knew it was on its way.

Just a little bit of advice, go to bicycle engines .com to buy your engines. They have warranties with their engines. Good people to deal with, stay away from bikeberry! Just take your time repairing it, and good luck!

I’m sure you know this but you don’t have to split the case to replace the clutch shaft (mandrel) and all the other clutch parts. Take extra care when using the gear puller that comes with the kit. I would check the 6202 double shielded or double sealed bearings to make sure good. Replace the bearing on one side of the case only before installing the new clutch shaft, center the shaft and make sure it doesn’t bind.

This is much appreciated advice, between Amazon, eBay, and the large number of gas bike online stores claiming to sell kits and parts of the highest quality it can be hard to determine which ones are truly what they clone to be . Thanks!
