OK... it's quite apparent that newer forks and more prevalent forks are threadless...

...is there any pluses or minuses with going threadless?

Can a threaded frame be converted to use threadless forks? What is that process (if so)?

All frames are threadless. The forks are either held down with a big nut or clamp. Threaded forks are better for setting the preload on the bearings.

The Schwinn Sidewinder frame size is designed for someone no taller than 5'10" tall; I'm 6'2". The threadless forks allowed me to raise the height of the handlebars by 7" so I now ride in an upright position.

So what would I need in order to use threadless forks on a frame that typically uses threaded forks? My apologies... I've never disassembled threadless forks... so I'm unaware. Is the gooseneck different on threadless setups? Will I need a different gooseneck?
