Front DRUM Brake Rim

I thought about that as well. When I had high end scooters capable of 35-40 MPH they had drum brakes on some of them as well, my Solex had a drum on the back that worked great. I have hydro's on my mountain bike, go down a descent with a MTB with mechanical disc's, or rim v-brakes, and it will test your heart rate very quickly. Failures of the front wheel on our MB's seems the most catastrophic, going over the bars at any speed will be a bad outcome.
I used rim brakes for nearly 10 years on the LandRider. Pads, braking technique and road familiarity is a must when riding in mountainous regions and mixing in the speed factor.
